About the product
What makes LoafGuard different from cheaper beeswax bags? Two things: the wax and the cotton. Most bags on the market use bleached, heavily processed beeswax, which strips out nearly all the propolis — the compound that actually resists mould and bacteria. What's left is a cosmetic wax coating. We use raw, unbleached beeswax that keeps its propolis intact. The cotton is also thicker, which is why the bag holds its shape and doesn't wear through at the fold.
How long will my bread actually stay fresh? Most customers get 5–7 days with a crusty artisan loaf. Softer breads and enriched doughs sit at the lower end of that. It depends on your kitchen — humidity, temperature, and how the loaf was baked all matter. It won't work miracles on bread that was already days old when you bought it.
Will my bread taste or smell like beeswax? There's a faint honey scent when the bag is new. It fades within a day or two of use and doesn't transfer to the bread. If you notice any smell at all after the first week, something's wrong — email us.
How large is the bag? Will my sourdough fit? It's sized for a full-size boule or a standard loaf. A large round sourdough fits comfortably. Very long baguettes may stick out of the top — roll the opening loosely rather than forcing it closed.
Can I use it for other foods? Yes. It works well for cheese, vegetables, fresh herbs, cut fruit, and covering bowls. Anything that benefits from breathing rather than being sealed.
Is it safe for children and people with allergies? The bag is cotton and food-grade beeswax — nothing else. If you have a bee-product allergy, it's worth checking with your doctor first, since beeswax is a bee product.
Care and use
How do I clean it? Wipe the inside with a dry cloth after each use. For anything stickier, use a damp cloth with cool water, then prop the bag open over a jar or bottle until it's completely dry inside before using it again.
What must I avoid? No hot water, no dishwasher, no washing machine, no microwave, no oven. Heat melts the beeswax and the bag won't recover. This is the one way to genuinely ruin it.
How should I store the bread inside? Roll the top loosely — don't seal it tight. The bag needs to breathe. Keep the loaf unsliced as long as you can; the crust protects the crumb better than any bag will. Store somewhere cool and dry, away from the stove and sink.
How long does the bag last? With normal use, 1–2 years. The wax coating gradually thins with handling. When bread stops staying fresh as long as it used to, the coating has worn down.
Can I re-wax it? Yes, with a beeswax refresh block and low oven heat — but that means putting the bag in the oven, which is normally something we tell you not to do. Email us and we'll walk you through it properly rather than have you guess.
Orders and delivery
How fast do you ship? Orders are dispatched within 1–2 business days. US delivery is typically 5–8 business days; international varies by country. Full details on our Shipping Policy page.
Do you ship internationally? Yes, worldwide. Import duties and customs fees are set by your own country and are the recipient's responsibility — we can't predict or control them.
Where's my order? Tracking is emailed when your parcel ships. It can take 24–48 hours to start updating. If nothing has moved after 7 days (US) or 14 days (international), email us.
Can I change or cancel my order? Email us as fast as you can. Before it enters fulfilment we can usually change or cancel it. After it ships, it becomes a return under the 60-day guarantee.
Returns and support
What if I don't like it? Email us within 60 days and we'll make it right — and we cover the return shipping. The bag can be used; that's the whole point of a trial. Details on the Returns & Refunds page.
How do I contact you? support@loafguard.health — we reply within 24 hours, usually sooner, and it's a real person, not a bot.
Do you offer bulk or gift orders? Yes. Email us with what you need and we'll sort it out directly.
